✝️ Gospel Connection: God gave His people the blueprint for a life that lasts — and the whole Bible shows that nobody could build it on their own. Jesus is the only one who followed God’s design perfectly, and then He gave His life to become the foundation for ours. When kids trust in Jesus, they aren’t just following rules — they’re building on the Rock that never fails.
Week 1 — God chose us before He gave us His rules
- Bible Story: God’s Blueprint Day at Sinai (Exodus 19:1–8)
- Key Discovery: God called Israel His treasured possession and made them His people BEFORE He gave them a single command — belonging comes before instructions.
- Takeaway: I obey God because I am already loved — not to make God love me.
Week 2 — God comes first
- Bible Story: The Foundation: Commandments 1–4 (Exodus 20:1–11)
- Key Discovery: The first four commandments all point one direction — God first: His worship, His name, His rest. A life stands on what it is built on.
- Takeaway: I build my week with God first — worship, His name, and rest with Him.
Week 3 — God’s rules protect the people we love
- Bible Story: The Walls: Commandments 5–10 (Exodus 20:12–17)
- Key Discovery: Commandments 5–10 are load-bearing walls — each one holds up and protects our relationships with family, friends, and neighbors.
- Takeaway: I keep God’s rules to protect the people I love.
Week 4 — Failure isn’t the end of God’s project
- Bible Story: The Golden Calf and the God Who Rebuilds (Exodus 32)
- Key Discovery: Right after promising “we will do everything the LORD has said,” Israel wrecked the whole build — and God, though grieved, did not abandon the project. He kept rebuilding His people.
- Takeaway: When I fail, I come back to God — He forgives and rebuilds.
Week 5 — Jesus is the foundation that never fails
- Bible Story: The Wise and Foolish Builders (Matthew 7:24–27)
- Key Discovery: Two builders, same storm — only the house on the rock stood. Hearing Jesus’ words AND doing them is building on rock; hearing without doing is sand.
- Takeaway: I build my life on Jesus by hearing His words and doing them.
