🚾 Children Ages 6-12 Years Old

We know that it is important to honor our parents and that God has entrusted us with mothers and fathers to care for and love us. It’s helpful to communicate to kids that God has actually commanded us to respect our parents, because He has placed them in our lives to help and watch over us. Even if we don’t have the best moms, we can celebrate the leaders that God gives us. This message reminds children that God loves and cares for us, and gives us others who do the same.

Honoring our parents isn’t only for the sake of obedience to the law or to family wishes. God gives this commandment with a promise: that it may go well and we will live long. He knows that honoring our parents will ultimately bless us. He is the one who has given us those in authority over us. They will care for and provide for us, and we can give thanks to God for the leaders He provides.

Bible Story: Ephesians 4:1-4, Exodus 20:12, various optional passages including 1 Samuel 1, Exodus 2:1-10,  Proverbs 31, Luke 1:26-38, 2 Timothy 1:5.

This lesson plan provides activities and Bible verses to help children understand the importance of honoring their parents. It discusses how God commands us to honor our parents and why honoring them is not only a commandment but also a blessing. The lesson also encourages children to show their appreciation for their mothers and other mother figures in their lives.

Honoring our mothers is an important commandment given by God in the Bible. It is one of the Ten Commandments with a special promise attached to it. When we honor our parents, God blesses us and promises that things will go well for us, and we will have a long life. This is because by honoring our parents, we are honoring God who placed our mothers in our lives to love and care for us. It is a way to show our love and respect for God and acknowledge and appreciate all that our mothers do for us. So, honoring our mothers is a wonderful way to show our love for God and for them.

Easy to teach to multiple age group classroom

I had 3 different age groups to teach on Mother's Day with only one teacher. Normally, this would have been very stressful. Thankfully, this lesson made teaching a breeze. We used the included handouts and Bible story and adapted and overcame our challenges. Mother's Day was successful and the children really learned, despite being in a mixed age group classroom. For context, there were preschoolers, third graders, and sixth graders in the classroom. Kudos

Wonderful For Our Littles!

These are a wonderfully simplistic way to get our Sunday School little ones engaged and talking about our lesson. Thank you for allowing us the permissions to duplicate without breaking our bank. I've just started volunteering in our church and these well written lessons helped a lot with my confidence with my new found passion of bringing God's word to the children, and in a thorough yet simplistically fun way.
