How does God protect our lives? There are a lot of things we do every day to protect ourselves from illness or injury. This lesson reminds us that only God has the power to protect us from sin and evil in our world. Moses was kept safe by his mother and by the Lord, who had a plan for his life. Just as Moses was brought up out of the water, he grew to bring God’s people out of the land of Egypt. God keeps us safe and brings us into eternal life!

The story of Moses has some powerful links that foreshadow Christ. A baby born in tough circumstances, rescued from those who want to kill him, growing up in Egypt…In the book of Exodus, we see how Moses was protected and raised up to deliver the people of Israel from the bondage of slavery under Pharaoh. With Jesus, we see how our Messiah delivered us from the bondage of sin and death under Satan. This passage has a wonderful promise that God is faithful and will always provide for His people.

Passage: Exodus 1:8-2:10 

Target Audience: Kindergarten-6th grade
