God gives us all special abilities and talents, and He wants us to use them for His glory. This lesson communicates to children the importance of identifying our gifts and using them to serve the Lord and others. The parable of the talents can seem confusing, but is helpful to recognize how we are equipped to do God’s work. Emphasize how all have unique and significant talents, and that God grants them to us for His purposes. 

God gives us all that we have and makes us all that we are. He provides for our physical and spiritual lives, and He also gifts us with abilities. Every talent and capability we have comes from the Lord. It only makes sense to serve Him and give back to Him because all things belong to Him! If we are uncertain of what talents we have, or we wonder how to use them, we can always ask the Lord for help, which He will provide out of His love for us.

Passage: Matthew 25:14-30 

Target Audience: Kindergarten-6th grade
