What's in the PDF

  • Children's sermon: "Thank You, Pastors!" from Hebrews 5:1-10, about five minutes, with a repeat-after-me prayer and a video of the message being taught.
  • Sunday School lesson: "Thank God and Thank a Pastor," for kindergarten to 6th grade, with five opening activities, discussion questions and the passage printed in the text.
  • Two pastor appreciation crafts: the Hands and Hearts card and the Growing in Christ card, each with a photo, a supply list and steps, plus words and Bible verses to write on any card.
  • Two pastor appreciation coloring pages by Mandy Groce: "Thank You God for My Pastor" and "Thank You God for Everyday Heroes."
  • Two printable thank-you cards for pastors: a full-page sheet to color, draw on and sign, and a fold-up card made from one sheet of paper.
  • An ideas page, including the Pastor Appreciation Bomb: cover the pastor's office door with the kids' cards and coloring pages during the sermon.

Who it is for

Children's pastors, children's ministry directors, Sunday School teachers and children's church leaders who want the kids to take part in pastor appreciation. The crafts use paper, markers, scissors and glue. The thank-you sheet works for every age, from preschool up, and the same cards work for a children's pastor, a youth leader or a Sunday School teacher.

When is Pastor Appreciation Sunday?

Pastor Appreciation Sunday, also called Pastor Appreciation Day or Clergy Appreciation Day, is the second Sunday of October. Many churches treat all of October as Pastor Appreciation Month. Kids can help with a card, a coloring page, a prayer for the pastor in class, or a thank-you delivered in person.

From The Sunday School Store and Ministry-to-Children.com. Lesson, children's sermon and crafts by Kristin Highley. Coloring pages by Mandy Groce. Scripture from the Berean Standard Bible.

How to get it: Add it to your cart and check out. It is free and no payment is needed. The download link comes to your email right away. Print as many copies as your church needs.

Pastor Appreciation lesson

This lesson came just in time for our Children’s
Church teacher to use. The kids made the cards and they were presented to our Pastor the next Sunday. It was a good reminder for us adults too, allowing us to show appreciation for our leaders.
Thank you!

Thank you Pastor card

We used page 14 (the foldable card) for the pastor and his wife. Cards were completed by children and adult members. They were included with a card and cash contributions for the pastor. They were quite surprised and touched by the personalized cards.
