💡 Big Idea: God created you to grow, stand strong, and do life with others — your squad matters more than you think.

📖 Memory Verse: "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. For if one falls down, his companion can lift him up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10a (BSB)

Back-to-school season comes with a question every kid is quietly asking: Where do I belong, and who's on my team? Squad Goals meets that nervous first-day energy head-on. Kids discover that the friendships God designs aren't about popularity — they're about growing each other closer to Him.

✝️ Gospel Connection: Every brave or kind person in Scripture had people around them — but the ultimate Squad Leader is Jesus. He didn't wait for us to earn an invitation. He came to find us, pick us, and pull us into a crew that changes the world. Across these four Sundays, kids see their need for a Savior, the way Jesus rescues and includes the overlooked, and how His Spirit grows us through the people He places in our lives.

4-Week Lesson Overview

Week 1 — New Kid Energy

  • Bible Story: Apollos, Priscilla & Aquila (Acts 18:24–28)
  • Key Discovery: Great friends don't just cheer for you — they help you see what you're missing and grow stronger.
  • Takeaway: I can look for friends who help me grow closer to God — and I can be that kind of friend for someone else.

Week 2 — Unpopular Vote

  • Bible Story: David and Mephibosheth (2 Samuel 9)
  • Key Discovery: Real friendship means showing kindness to people who can't pay you back — especially the ones everyone else overlooks.
  • Takeaway: I can choose to be kind to someone this week who can't do anything for me in return — because that's what God's kindness looks like through me.

Week 3 — Minority Report

  • Bible Story: Obadiah Hides the Prophets (1 Kings 18:1–4)
  • Key Discovery: Sometimes the bravest thing a friend can do is quietly protect what's right — even when everyone around them is doing wrong.
  • Takeaway: I don't have to follow the crowd to be brave — standing up for someone when no one is watching is one of the most important things I can do.

Week 4 — You Can Sit With Us

  • Bible Story: Jesus Calls Levi (Luke 5:27–32)
  • Key Discovery: Jesus doesn't build His squad based on who's popular or who has it together — He picks the people everyone else rejects.
  • Takeaway: I can follow Jesus' example and be the kind of friend who makes room at the table for people others overlook.
